Crown and Bridges

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a ‘cap’, it protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.

A bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth. Bridges are only possible if you have enough strong teeth with good bone support.

There are several types of bridges, the traditional bridge is the most popular type and is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. This type of bridge consists to two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth and are attached to artificial teeth, filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
